When we first started shipping our macarons, we needed a provider that could guarantee express delivery across Canada and then the United States. Once we began expanding our gift item offerings to include non-perishable items, we were on the hunt for the most affordable shipping option available. Once the pandemic began, shipping rates sky-rocketed due to the increase in demand and our hopes of getting in with Canada Post were temporarily dashed. We kept trying and finally, we are so pleased to announced that we now have shipping available with Canada Post!

As a senior member of the Jenna Rae Cakes team, the Assistant Manager works directly with the Chief of Operations, Customer Service Representative and Head Baker to ensure that the store is operating at optimum levels regarding customer service, employee training, and product quality. Position is on a 1 year term with opportunity to extend.
Assist in the overall daily operations, store cleanliness and maintenance of the store including reviews with staff, training new front of house employees.
Accountable to the Chief of Operations regarding feedback on employee performance, and directs management to any necessary follow up steps
Communicating with the Customer Service Representative regarding orders and daily product
Monitoring product freshness and maintaining quality control
Ensuring all orders leaving the store are completed to the proper specifications
Using judgement to navigate customer interactions, and taking the necessary steps to rectify unique situations
Ensuring all wholesale orders are accounted for, and charged when necessary
Relaying contra orders (Academy Florist) to the Customer Service Representative (Mackenzie Chaudhary)
Communicating to the Chief of Operations when equipment or infrastructure needs an upgrade or some attention
Minimum 2 years management experience. Restaurant or retail management an asset.
Familiarity with Google Drive.
Available to work at all three storefront locations (580 Academy Road, The Forks + Unit 9A-20 Island Shore Boulevard) and JRC Head Office.

RMHC Manitoba supports the health and well-being of children by providing a “home-away-from-home” and other essential services for critically ill, chronically ill and seriously injured children and their families.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Manitoba is an organization that keeps families together. Ronald McDonald House is a “home-away-from-home” for rural Manitoban and out-of-province families with a child requiring treatment at a nearby hospital. The 11,000 square foot House is located on Bannatyne Avenue, only two blocks from HSC Children’s Hospital. It supports up to 14 families at a time.
Donations from our Community Initiative of the Month program throughout July to Ronald McDonald House Charities new house being built in Winnipeg. 40% of pediatric in-patients in Manitoba must travel 100 km or more, round-trip, to access the care they need for their sick child. The new House will increase space from 11,000 To 47,000 sq. ft. and bedrooms from 14 to 40. It will also include specialty suites for bone marrow and solid organ transplant patients.
Throughout the months of July and August, RMHC is also running their Champion for Families campaign! The longest stay of an RMHC Manitoba family last year was 194 days. Now, they are challenging you to pick your favourite activity, do it 194 times between July 1st – August 31st, and have fun while raising pledges online. Move a total of 194 kilometers, sing 194 songs, sell 194 handmade bracelets—the possibilities are endless! Share your experience on social media to raise awareness using the hashtag, #ChampionForFamilies194, and tag four other people to do the same!
