It's that time of year where we look back at all the wonderful wedding cakes of 2018. Each wedding cake we have the honour to create is special in its own way. We love working with couples to create a cake that is unique to them; their style, colour palette and flavour preference! There are so many details that go into creating wedding cakes and we really enjoy being able to play a small part in seeing wedding day dreams come true.
Let's take a look at some of our favourite wedding cakes of 2018!
We are starting our roundup of 2018 with a wedding cake that actually finished off 2017! We didn't show you this cake until January of 2018 so we thought it would still make the cut for our favourites from this past year. This stunning cake was made for a Matt and Danielle. Danille is one of Jenna and Ashley's best friends, making this cake an even more meaningful creation. This cake features all of Jenna's signature design elements; ombre frills, gold sequin details and sugar peonies and flowers.
Next up is a stunning black and white minimal wedding cake. This cake features a torn paper effect with white blossoms edged in black and white leaves. This cake was so different from the usual cakes Jenna has the opportunity to make, making it a memorable cake that really stands out over the past year.
This one comes as no surprise-- Jenna's wedding cake! While we can't show you the full cake quite yet, we posted this sneak peek on our Instagram feed! Jenna really outdid herself creating this cake that featured new techniques and flowers she leared at a Maggie Austin workshop earlier in the year. Trust us when we say you will love the full cake!
This beautiful cake was a guarnateed show-stopper. It features blue watercolour painting, gold leaf tiers and eucalyptus details. The simplicity of the eucalytpus paired with the ornate detail of the gold leaf tiers and artistic watercolour work together in beautiful harmony.
Renata is a long-time customer of Jenna Rae Cakes so we were honoured when she asked us to create the wedding cake for her and Anthony's wedding. The frill appliques and delicate roses in a soft palette made this cake perfectly romantic and dreamy for their special day. The final cake to round out our lineup of favourites from 2018 is s gorgeous 2-tier cake for Stef and Brett. Classic gold sequins, sugar flowers and sugar leaves in a warm palette is perfect for these cooler months. We love how this cake really shows that you don't need 4+ tiers to create a stunning wedding cake. 2-tiers is enough to turn heads and stand out on your wedding day.
