Baking reality shows have a fond place in our hearts. After all, the entire reason Jenna Rae Cakes is here is because Jenna saw an episode of Cake Boss and thought, 'I could do that!’. With such fond memories associated with baking shows, when we were approached to be on the Food Network's new show, Wall of Bakers, we were ecstatic! Well, ecstatic and totally nervous! Aside from this being our first time as judges, we were wondering how we would, as self-taught bakers, stack up with the rest of the incredibly talented bakers sitting with us on the 'wall'?

Our nerves were calmed once we arrived and met the other judges and the production crew. Everyone was so kind, knowledgeable and talented and we left with lifelong friendships. The other judges on the show range from shop owners to world-renowned pastry chefs to cookbook authors to chocolatiers, so the feedback given on every dish is well-rounded and thoughtful. 

Every baker who competed on the show was unique, talented and honestly, if it were up to us, everyone would have been a winner! Their delicious creations that brought them into the spotlight, unique takes on pantry staple ingredients and inspired desserts were so much fun to taste and offer feedback on. We loved seeing the passion in the kitchen as each baker tried their best to showcase their skills and talents in the most delicious ways possible.
