JRC Gives Back - June 2023

For June 2023, JRC is Giving Back to Rainbow Resource Centre!

Rainbow Resource Centre offers support to the 2SLGBTQ+ community in the form of counselling, education, and programming for individuals ranging from children through to 55+. They also support families, friends, and employers of 2SLGBTQ+ individuals.
This year, Rainbow Resource Centre is celebrating 50 years of identity, advocacy, and community! As the longest continuously running 2SLGBTQ+ resource centre in Canada, Rainbow Resource Centre has much to celebrate this year and this Pride season: they've moved to their new location at 545 Broadway where they're building a complete queer campus — Place of Pride — which will include Canada’s first affordable housing for 2SLGBTQ+ older adults.
Rainbow Resource Centre has many events, workshops, and prizes lined up for Pride season including Rainbow's Pride Lunch & Learn Sessions taking place virtually over Zoom throughout the month of June. You're invited to take part in a month of learning designed to equip you with the basics as you start your journey of 2SLGBTQ+ awareness, inclusion, and affirmation, and help you to get a better understanding of the history of Pride, and the fight for equal rights here in Manitoba.
With a number of programs running throughout the year designed specifically for those of all ages from Camp Aurora summer camp, to counselling and education services, Rainbow Resource Centre is an active and crucial organization that nurtures inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQ+ communities to thrive.

Throughout the month of June, purchase cupcakes in-store at Academy, Island Lakes or The Forks, through SkipTheDishes, or online, and 5% of sales will be donated to Rainbow Resource Centre!
